75° Celsius has just opened for business few months ago and we’re lucky to have Ken to arrange for a review with them.

This part of the post will only be showing the drinks that 75° Celsius offer. Beverages from hot to cold, from cold to liquor provided.

What caught my attention is this… Michael Jackson. Yes, you’re right, you didn’t read it wrong and neither do I type it wrongly too. That’s a drink that named after MJ. The drink that is consists of Tia Maria, Malibu and Cointreau liquor that makes this beautiful Michael Jackson (RM10-00).

Apart from MJ, the common cocktails that we normally have it in many clubs, discotheques, or pubs are Tequila Sunrise, AK47, Screw Driver, Lemon Drop, Milk Shake Bailey and many other more.

AK47 (RM18-00) is a type of cocktail which has Bourbon Whiskey, Brandy, Cointreau, Gin, Lime, Rum, Vodka, Scottish Whiskey and Soda Water. Mix all these liquors in a shaker and shake well with ice and pour that into a brandy glass. And that’s make an AK47, anyone dare to try?

Tequila Sunrise (RM13-00) cocktail which requires 2 shots of white tequila, orange juice and 1 shot of grenadine that makes a a colorful cocktail that normally serves in a highball tall glass.

2009_08_15 75C Picture (45)a
Screw Driver (RM13-00) is a common ladies cocktail, and it’s the simplest cocktail that anyone could make. Just vodka and orange juice mixed well. Isn’t that easy?

2009_08_15 75C Picture (84)a
Lemon Drop (RM10-00) basically is vodka, lemon and sugar ingredient. Some how it has many version of making one. What commonly made was having vodka, lemon and sugar shake well in a shaker and pour it on a martini glass and garnish with lemon twist.

Am sure many of us know Bailey liquor, but have you tested Milk Shake Bailey? Something unique, uh? Well, you can find this in 75° Celsius. And it’s only costs RM8-50.

Non-Alcoholic Cocktail always have fancy name, those that normally people will order for their female friends are Pussy Cat, Fruit Punch, Shirley Temple, etc. But 75° Celsius is offering even more fancy cocktail that I never thought so. The name of the cocktail is beautiful and attractive.

For example, Dawn of the Beauty (RM7-00), it’s the top drinks in 75° Celsius. Isn’t it colorful?? And I managed to capture the making of the drink too… it’s beautiful that’s all I could say.

2009_08_15 75C Picture (50)a
Lemon Temptation (RM7-00), is refreshing and has its cooling effect. It’s made from fine lime with Sprite.

2009_08_15 75C Picture (36)a
Philadelphia (RM7-50), I never thought American State could be named for a cocktail. It’s a 3 mix top up with soda.

Wild Fruit Blended (RM7-00) is also another beautiful cocktail and suitable for people that can’t tolerate liquor.

2009_08_15 75C Picture (59)a
75° Celsius also have some decent beverages like milk shake, variety choices from Green Tea, Strawberry, and Vanilla.

2009_08_15 75C Picture (30)a
Ice Blended Chocolate (RM9-50) with whip cream nicely decorated.

2009_08_15 75C Picture (34)a
If you’re a coffee lover, don’t miss their Ice Espresso (RM7-00).

2009_08_15 75C Picture (83)a

Cappuccino & Hazel Nut Cappuccino (RM5-00) is also another hot beverage that is nice to have after a heavy meal.

This place is definitely a nice, cozy place to hang out with friends… especially they have so many beverages choices for us to choose.

Please stay tune for more, the next post will be on food review.

New Secret Restaurant 阿南砂煲活田鸡粥

The last weekend weather was cold and gloomy, best is to hide in the blanket and do nothing but to sleep. But that will make one more lazy and not doing anything. Well, true enough I was extremely lazy when comes to such weather… not even in the mood for window shopping, having a cup of coffee in Coffee Bean, or meeting up with friends and so on.

And what would help to warmth the stomach? Either a pot of Bak Kut Teh or a bowl of soup of Koay Teow Th’ng. Unfortunately my ‘boss’ didn’t wanna have either the mentioned.

He was yearning paddy frog, and instead of going to Sin Geylang in Penang, we went back to New Secret Restaurant in Raja Uda. This is actually my second visit, the 1st visit didn’t manage to take any photo.

Basically they do not have many choices for us to choose, it’s either paddy frog or eel.

And now added chicken dice for either spicy hot or ginger onion.

Hubby wants some spicy piping hot paddy frog (RM18-00) 宮保田雞. So, a pot of that was ordered. For those that not able to take spicy food, you can tell them less spicy, otherwise, it will be standard, ie. Dried chili and Red Hot Chili Padi.

And I want something plain, so a pot of ginger onion chicken dice was ordered. (RM7-00) 姜蔥雞丁
A plate of greens. (RM4-00) I always wanted to have a plate of vegetables without having ‘Bak Hu’ sprinkle on it. Cuz, to me that will spoilt the taste of the vege. At first they gave us the plate with ‘Bak Hu’, perhaps it’s their mistake, then they came and apologize and changed a new plate for us without charges.
That’s what we call ‘Customer Satisfaction’.

Another piping hot pot – plain white porridge (砂煲白粥); with some spring onion sprinkle on it. (RM2-00) that would be nice to eat with either spring onion chicken dice or spicy hot paddy frog.
2 glasses of chrysanthemum & herbal tea (RM1-20 each), that helped to cool of the spiciness in the pot of paddy frog.

We thought the plate of ground nuts is complimentary, didn’t know is chargeable… it’s RM1-50 per plate.

Total damage for the dinner is about RM34-90 without taxes.

Victoria Street Wanton Mee

Once I read about Steven’s post on the cheapest Wanton Mee in town, but I never know this is the one that am going to share.

True indeed this is the cheapest Wanton Mee that I ever ever try before! 2 plates of Wanton Mee and about 15 pieces of Wanton only cost us RM5-00!

It’s unbelievable cheap, right?

We’re there on one of the Saturday morning, that morning was drizzling and it’s cold. We didn’t know what to have, while driving around, hubby was saying since we always wonder the corner shop that located on Victoria Street Wanton Mee whether nice or not, why don’t we give it a try.

Without second thought, of course I’ll say yes to him.

The coffee shop gave me a very inheritance and traditional feel, wooden chairs and marble tables and only 1 stalls that doing business.

Hubby made an order, and within few minutes, our plates of Wanton Mee & Wanton were served.

Noodle was springy but could taste the alkaline. Perhaps the uncle ought to change the water frequently, so that he could wash off the alkaline smell when he cooked the noodle.

The sesame oil is generously add on the plate of noodle, it makes this plate of Wanton Mee even more fragrant. Not to forget, Wanton Mee is also best to serve with Sambal Chili, and this stall Sambal Chili is really good.

15 pieces of Wanton on a hot clear chicken stock soup was a kick for us, especially having it on a raining day. It keeps both of us so warm after having it.

The shop is closed on Sunday, if you’re looking for cheap Wanton Mee, this is the place for it.

Max Gourmet 美食之家

Max Gourmet is no stranger to many people that works in Free Trade Zone or living some where that area. Now it’s opening its third wing in Gurney Plaza, and it gives more people to taste their specialty of food.

We didn’t realize until last week, hubby and I went up there for a movie. Oh, talking about movie, if you’re a woman who loves romance comedy, this is a good one for you, ‘The Proposal’ by Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. It was something sweet and romantic.

Ok, back to food… while we know we have to kill some time before entering to the theater, hubby and I walked into this new outlet without second thought, and ordered what Max Gourmet offers on their specialty. And one of them is…

Egg Tart, RM1-50 per piece. It’s not that sweet, and it’s definitely good to have. The puff pastry is absolutely crispy and you can’t even hold it for long, and this is the type of pastry that could make you hunger for more. Well, for now that works for me.

Steamed Glutinous Rice with Chicken is something that’s filling and something that not to miss, especially you’re going for dim sum.

Max Siew Mai.

Fresh Prawn Dumplings. The prawns are definitely fresh and springy.

Last item is Deep Fried Prawns with Pastry. Though tiny, but it’s one of the best dim sum item to have. Only if you’re not cautious about oily food.

Well, the best is still having a pot of Chrysanthemum Chinese Tea to wash off the oil that had consumed.

Ivy's Kitchen

Do you have the problem to decide what to eat when comes to lunch time or dinner time?? Seriously, I do… I have lots of places in mind that I wanna try, but many times can’t remember where is it or some how forgotten about it. Even though I wrote it down in a piece of paper… sad, uh??

I wonder was that the early stage of Alzheimer? Or am aging?

Well, let’s cut the craps. If you’re looking for Home Cooked kind of food for dinner, that’s nothing better than this place – Ivy’s Kitchen.

A place you don’t find MSG on the food, service is excellent, and friendly. Most important, the food is good!

It’s a 2nd review that extended by Mr Tan from Ivy’s Kitchen and arranged by Criz for us. It’s a great pleasure meeting with some new bloggers which I have not met before… it was a great company that night.

Before the food introduction, a brief on this place… a place that operates by a couple Mr Tan & Ivy. The restaurant has operated since 2 years ago. And recently installed air-cond at the inner dining area for customers to have a more comfortable place to dine. Ivy’s Kitchen also given a card to their customers for stamp collection. For each RM5 spent, customers are entitle for a chop/stamp. Customers are encourage to collect 10 chops/stamps in one card and entitle for a free set meal or RM7.50 discount on a total bill.

Ok, let’s back to the food… all fruit juices that were served are charged RM2-20 each. Fruit juices are freshly squeeze… and we’re served with all the drinks above.

If you’re craving for crabs and not expect anything spicy, I bet Ivy’s Kitchen could provide a delicious Sweet & Sour Flower Crab. It’s only charge RM30-00 per kati which is approximately 600g. It would be good if have bread or mantou to dip on the sauce. That’s really heaven!

Joo Hoo Char (RM10-00) is something simple yet it’s also a test to a cook’s skill in terms of the chili that accomplishes the dish. And am giving 2 thumbs up for the Sambal Belachan. It’s just too good!

Many of us never know Kailan (RM8-00) can be stirred fried with Sambal Belachan, with Ivy’s Kitchen’s Sambal Belachan, this plate of Kailan is absolutely appetizing. For those that love spicy food, this could add on 2 bowl of steam rice. [Note: RM8-00 (S), RM10-00 (M), RM14-00 (L)]

Chicken Lobak (RM6-00), is tasty, though many will expect pork meat, but I can say this is equally as tasty as pork meat. Oh ya, Ivy’s Kitchen is a pork free eatery outlet.

Assam Prawns (RM4-00 to RM5-00). Do you believe the price and the amount of prawns that offered in Ivy’s Kitchen? In fact, the prawns are so flavorful and the prawns are fresh too.

Curry Tumis Fish is indeed tantalizing, because it’s sourest, and lots of chili flower that make the curry alluring. (RM9-00 per 100g)

Tofu Seaweed Soup is flavorful, and it’s simple. . [Note: RM8-00 (S), RM10-00 (M), RM14-00 (L)]

Last that ends the dinner for the night is Red Bean Soup with Dried Longan (RM2-00 per bowl).

Oh ya, a complimentary Beef Rendang from Ivy's Kitchen for us to try, many of us commented this is absolutely mouth watering.

Right now with all the dishes mentioned above, it gives many of us know what can Ivy's Kitchen could offer. Do give it a try... I bet, you wouldn't regret to step in.
