Imbi Palace Restaurant

Sometimes I just wonder does Penang has good egg tart like KL does?? Seriously I don’t know and have not really hunt into that yet. But am always lucky to have my best buddy to take me to try KL good food.

Why would I say that, simple… that last day of breakfast in this Mama Mia fever period, Eve and family brought hubby and I to this Imbi Palace for breakfast. A place only opens at 10am on weekend and 11.30am on weekdays.

They are serving typical & authentic Hong Kong Dim Sum per Eve’s comment, as well as Cantonese food during lunch and dinner time.

What’s famous down here is their roast pork belly what Cantonese called it Siu Yok (燒肉).

Hubby has been into reviewing good roast pork kind of field lately, whenever he sees that, he’ll order a plate and try. With this, he gave 2 thumbs up. It’s like now you see it now you don’t kind of thing. It could just melt it in your mouth, and the skin is extremely crispy.

Other ordinary dim sum that we have for that morning was Siu Mai (燒賣).

Har Gau (蝦餃). And many other more like …

Pan Fry Rice Noodle (腸粉)

Zhaliang (炸兩)

Spring Roll (春卷)

Pan Fry Turnip Cake (煎蘿蔔糕)

Egg Tart

Seriously, this is nothing compared to Penang Dim Sum… if you notice, I hardly blog about Penang Dim Sum. Say that am bias, but what I have down here compared to Penang, this is the best.

What an amazing spread! KL does trump Penang in the dim sum department, no doubt about that!

Hi, gosh, I love that siew yoke! My favorite too.
And the dishes look so delicious.
I too love Penang food old me the food taste better when my partner is a sarong kebaya Penang lady, ha ha.
Oh ya, I have always loved to hear Penang Hokkien being spoken by Penang women...sounds so gentle.

And I learned this, "lu chiak pah siow eng, ahhh". Ha ha.
Have a nice day, Lee.

This is my favourite spot for tim sum. The quality and the price are equivalent good. I totally agreed with u that tim sum in KL is more refined. Another place I like is the Shanghai tim sum at JW Marriott. Quite pricey but very refined.

don't worry, I too agree that KL's dim sum is much better than Penang's - in terms of variety, taste n value.
Hi Duckie, really??? Do you like that too??

Hi Little Inbox, hehehehee.... make you hungry or not?

Hi Allie, seriously, it's really really really good!!

Hi Ling239, oh... we didn't order that. :(

Hi MFCB, Zhaliang is CCF wrap with Yau Zha Guai. You're right!

Hi Simple Girl, can't find this in Penang... sad!!! Think only in KL or perhaps Ipoh?!

Hi 550ml jar of faith, why can't Penang follow hor?? Sad to see that Penang do not have such standard. It's more cater for their local flavor.

Hi Uncle Lee, your preference is always unique! hahahahaha....

Hi Food for Thot, have not try out that yet!! I wish I have a chance to try out one of these days.

Hi vKeong, yeh!!! Bingo!!! At least I found someone that agrees with me. :)

Yes! I remember eating at this place a couple of years back with the best dim sum I had ever tasted...especially the mouth watering roast pork.

This is one of my favourite dim sum places too. I think I shall pop by here soon for some CNY specials.

Interesting post! I'm also currently obsessed with all things porky. My favorites so far for roasted pork is Vintry (yup, its not really a chinese rest.) and Yu Jia (which is just across the road from Imbi Palace).
