Home Cooked Chili Crabs

This post meant for me to jot down what my mom had for this dish. This is one of the family favourite dishes. Not only to us, but her brother aka my uncle too.

Ingredients –

3 to 4 meat crabs (with eggs, optional)

1 pack of chili (could get it from wet market)

Curry leafs
2 cloves of garlic



  1. Wash crabs thoroughly and chopped into half.
  2. 2 cloves of garlic chopped, and sauté till fragrant.
  3. Add all chili and sauté till fragrant.
  4. Add crabs into the wok and fry with high heat.
  5. Close the lid for couple of seconds and open up and stir fry again. Keep doing this process for couple of times.
  6. Add curry leafs and stir fry.

  7. Then serve!

It looks more like black pepper crab.Anyway, the photos are great.
Hi Jason, mom can't take black pepper, thus, no pepper was used. It looks burn but it's definitely our favourite.

Hi, I have always love crabs, but prefer steamed.

Looks like black pepper crabs! Chili or black pepper, it will taste so good!

now my turn to show my mom the recipe. it is amazing how mothers always makes cooking simple! my mom used to cook sweet and sour crab a lot, but these days, she said it is more convenient to eat out. LOL. i really miss those days when we imprisoned the crabs prior to cooking
