Tao Authentic Asian Cuisine – when we first saw this name, I heard the services was lousy, food was expensive. However, a year later, they opened a branch in Auto City, Juru. So, you could imagine how good or lousy of their services?
I have never been to this place, due to the above mentioned. But, why am I here this time? Well, out of curiosity that’s why am here, second reason is a free treat from family, so, why not, huh?[haha, that’s the main reason]

When I entered this place, first word from me was a ‘Wow!’. Just look at these pictures… it’s nicely decorated into a Balinese design, it was so cozy to dine in here. They even have man-made lagoon, water fall, and so on.This is the only outlet which has a lounge where you could have a glass of beer after you have your meal on the other side.
Total 8 of us, we were just ordered, ordered and ordered. The waitress that took our order kept reminding us that every wastage of 100gram will be charged RM10. We were just looked at her and smiled. Cuz, these are the bunch of glutton here, how could have wastage? [grin]
Look at what we have ordered…

Hot & spicy scallop
Assorted sashimi

Assorted sushi
Tempura
Seafood teppanyaki
Pan grilled lamb (wonder why Japanese food has something so western)
Curry lamb
Salads
California rolls
Cawanmushi
Unagi maki
Pan grilled salmon
Cold soba
Last… Papaya Salmon
Which we do not know what is it, but the waitress kept recommending this to us. Well, since this is highly recommended, we gave it a try.
Oh ya, did I tell you that orange juice & green tea are free flow?

This is our first time here, so, it was a bit of doubtful when we wanted to order some food. The waitress did not recommend anything except the dumpling. With that, we ordered 2 sets, one is purely meat and the other is scallop dumplings.
Anyway, the 2 gentlemen ordered porridge for themselves. One had fish and hubby had century egg and salted egg lean meat porridge.
As for me, I got myself a steam rice with assorted Chinese sausages, which I don’t the taste is towards my liking.

Last, that’s what they called it dessert, the Chinese version scone which our friend claimed it, it’s actually the Custard Bun.

Without 2nd thought I got myself a barbeque baby back ribs, with sweet corns and garlic mashed potato as side dishes.
While hubby wanted to make his choice, the outlet manager was actually recommend smoked gammon ribs. Since we have not tried this before, so, hubby gave it a try.
Hubby can never ever give up garlic bread, where ever he sees garlic bread in the menu, he’ll sure get one for himself. And this costs about $8.00.
However, both visits to this place, still find that not many people are there. Was it because of the location or the price?
This is the only eatery outlet that I notice, using a silver chopstick and a plastic spoon. Thought Japanese culture do not have spoon for meal?
Look at the plates… before I remember to take pictures of the salads, and appetizers, here it is now.

The last time we came, we had the original ribs, but this time, my BIL ordered BBQ spare ribs with other side orders. And it seems this turns out to be pretty good.
My sis had Fish and Chips. One of the reason is it’s not that filling, second reason the young little one can have our share of portion. But, by looking at the serving, that’s big, isn’t it?
Parents still go for their favourite, the Original Ribs, and they have got themselves a bowl of wild mushroom soups for appetizer.
As for my brother and his fiancé, they both were sharing a plate of deep fried shrimps with coleslaw and broccoli as side dishes. Well, reason is simple, as they are about to get married, thus, they both need to on diet. :-D
Another sis of mine was adventurous enough to try on this new dish, it's pan fried Dory Fish, and it's a bit of spicy. She likes it very much... it was something special she says.
Boar kidney (
Second dish that mom did for me was long beans stir fry with black fungus and lean meat.
When I started to write this post, it reminds me of my pregnancy period. Cuz, this is one of the place that I visited when I was pregnant. Every time after check up hubby will take me a for walk or even a simple lunch before I go home. And, all these while I have the tendency for not having any strong aroma food, for example garlic, Chinese celery, spring onions, shallots, onions and so on.

Anyway, I ordered a Unagi Set for myself, and hubby ordered a Chicken Set. In fact, there is nothing different as both came with salads, cawanmushi, dessert, vegetables and appetizer.

Do you realize, the vegetables that they served do come with a fish ball? I was wondering at that time, but didn’t bother to ask, cuz, at that time, mommy was hungry like hell.
