Benvenuto Ristorante e Bar

Since last week food exploration in Upper Penang Road, we went back there again yesterday. Cuz, I heard from my brother that they have another place that serves affordable Italian food like pasta and pizza. Apart from that, what interests me was this place do not charge 5% Government Tax and 10% Service Tax.

As you know this place is so happening that, you will get to see lots of people going into Mois (Penang Number 1 Pub), Slippery Senorita and Momo. However, you will see other people are dining in those restaurants along this place too.

I’ve not been to this Benvenuto Ristorante e Bar, and never know what do they have. Since, last night was a visit from my relatives, so, hubby and I brought them to this place. And that’s the reason why I was not able to attend the floggers’ gathering in Tanjung Bunga.

Anyway, all of us were having pasta, except hubby who took their recommendation; he had a Fried Chee Cheong Fun.

Well, things were started when hubby asked them what’s their recommendation, and then the waitress asked are you from Ipoh. Then we said ya, my relative is from Ipoh. So, she continued and said that the more you should try on this Fried Chee Cheong Fun that they have. Unfortunately, my relatives weren’t adventure enough to give it a try but hubby was very much interested.

So, a plate of Fried Chee Cheong Fun was served. Honestly, I like the taste and it’s really delicious.

Oh ya, before that, we had a starter. We have a plate of Bruschetta Promodore which is a French loaf that have tomatoes chopped and mixed with Olive oil, herbs and garlic. It was something refreshing. If am not mistaken is about RM8, for garlic bread is about RM6.

My relative have a bowl of mushroom soup and also a Bolognese that accompanied by minced beef and so herbs like Basil and Oregano.

The wife is getting her favourite Fettuccine Carbonara. It’s a cream sauce with some wild mushroom.

I went for Arrabiata that comes with lots of garlic, herbs and fresh chillies.

Last, hubby had another plate of dessert – the Crepe wrap with Vanilla Ice Cream and surrounded by honey.

I didn’t quite like the crepe cuz, it’s too thick and I like those are thin and crispy.

Anyway, the dinner damage was only RM85 nett. It was a pleasant dinner for us and cheap too.

There's this place in my office building which also has fried chee cheong fun for breakfast, but a really horrible version and left me with a bad first impression of the dish. It's got so much potential, and I think this place captures it better!

RM85 for 4 is moderate. The ambiance is attractive and warm.
