It took me the entire morning to prepare 4 dishes and 1 soup for today's lunch.
And I am darn tired.
First thing in the morning is to get my banker cum my driver to drive me to the wet market, and buy the food that I planned to cook for lunch. 4 dishes and 1 soup, honestly, it maybe very easy to others, but hey, am not that professional compared to my domestic minister (aka mommy) yet.
But then, daddy was giving me the compliment and that's honestly made my day.... even more happy to make dad more food to eat, to try.
Ok, let's see what I have prepared, ok?
1. Oyster sauce chicken
2. Bean sprouts with spring onions and chilies
2. Bean sprouts with spring onions and chilies
4. Steam fish (蒸鱼)
5. 玉竹豬骨汤
First, clean whatever I need to clean or wash all of these food, and start to marinate for a longer time so that when I cook it will turn out to be tasty.
Oh ya, I actually do boil water to wash those ribs before I stew it. Others ingredients consists of garlics, gingers, chilies, spring onions, Chinese coriander (or Chinese parsley 芫荽), oyster source, sugar, salt, fermented black soybean (豆豉), 豆瓣酱 and dark soya source.
I used oyster source, dark soya sauce, a bit of sugar and salt to marinate for about 1 hour. Cut ginger into slices, and spring onions and the rest of the ingredients too.
Heat up the wok to fry the garlics, fermented black soybean (豆豉) follow by bean sauce (豆瓣酱), fry these ingredients until fragrant and add on the pork ribs and stir fry again. Once it's fully mixed, transfer those food into a pot and 焖 until the ribs are tender.
So, the 1st dish consider completed. Hehehehe....
2nd dish, the oyster sauce chicken - we have marinated the chicken for an hour time, now it's time to cook ... again wash the wok and heat up with sesame oil, stir fry (炒) the ginger until fragrant and follow by the garlic. Then after add the marinated chicken into the wok and stir fry. Oh ya, make sure it's enough of 'wok hei' (锅气).
And now, the 2nd dish is done too.
Here comes the 3rd one - Steam Fish! Steam fish consider is one of the easiest compared the other dishes. You just need to wash the fishes and put those gingers on top of those fishes and steam it for 10mins. And added on those Chinese coriander & spring onions on top that consider done too.
What I did differently was I cooked the sauce and add it on top. The sauce was actually light soya sauce, garlic and little bit of sugar and pepper. That will make the fish delicious.
As for the soup, I dumped all ingredients into the pot and boil it for nearly 2 hours. The ingredients are 玉竹 (Polygonatum), red dates (红枣), honey dates (蜜枣), wolfberries (枸杞/杞子).
So now, here are the final results after the battle in the kitchen.... how do you find this??
