Canton-i Restaurant 廣東金廚粥麵家

You know what, normally before I write something, I’ll normally Google the Restaurant or the food name whatsoever… then I can put that in as other review, so that reader could also have a cross reference check.

And guess what, think this is one of the most reviewed places by many bloggers, whether it’s in 1-Utama, The Garden or The Sunway Pyramid… and now it’s right here in the Pearl of Orient – Penang.

I know I’ve not been blogging anything lately, well… too many bad news happened week after week, seriously that affect my mood to blog.

Anyway, this is one of my posts in my draft folder…. way long in October 2008, when I had a food hunt in KL with my sister.

We didn’t have anything fancy, but something that could warmth our hungry belly.

I had a Fish Porridge (生魚粥), which I find that ok. Though the porridge is smooth and silky, I wish to have more fish meat instead of miserable few pieces.

Sis had Pork Intestines Porridge (豬雜粥), one of her favourite.

My brother-in-law was skeptical with the food that we ordered, so the safest is to have a plate of Hong Kong Wantan Noodle (香港雲吞麵).

Claypot Chicken Dice (啫啫雞仔煲) that’s what hubby has, and he realized there’re some intestines inside and salted fish (鹹魚) too. He finds it delicious and that really warmth his belly.

Not to forget their famous Crispy Roasted Pork Belly (脆皮燒腩). We ordered 1 plate, and yet hubby finds it not enough, and here comes another plate.

If you realize it comes with mustard and sugar. Isn’t it typical Cantonese style of eating Roasted Pork??

I don’t plan to write more about this place, lists below has said it all out … check them out.

I don't feel like eating out these days. During the renovation, hubby & I had been dine out for the past 3 weeks. Blek, no appetite now. Just want to eat "light" home cooked meal.

Lately, no mood to blog too...I feel really tired. :(

only garlic chilli sauce for me.

but of course, i cant wait to give Canton-i a try, though I've put them off my list after the Dragon-i experience.

wow! i didnt realize so many bloggers had covered this place! lol
hope you're alright and things start looking up for you. :)
Hi Little Inbox, once you've dined out for a long time or often, you will tend to eat in. And when you're too tired, the blogging mood is also lacking. I understand... however, you ought to take care... am sure your readers are waiting for your posts.

Hi J2Kfm, roast pork with mustard in fact is pretty norm in many Cantonese families.

Hi Criz, that also new to me... but not mustard.

Hi PTP, ya, I agreed. Their price is on the high side.

Hi Cariso, looking forward for your post.

Hi Lingzie, thanks for the sweet thought.

The more the merrier or its just clever marketing? The siew yoke sure is handsome and I can do with a bowl of pig's spare parts porridge. Hope things will look up soon.

I was wanting to go to this place. It was back from last few months when they started the business, when I sit down and open the menu I straight away leave the place as the price has over my budget.

I haven't tried this one... going to pay a visit soon. :)
Hi mimid3vils, once in awhile just to indulge ourselves, that's all! :)

Hi worldwindows, and it's also dangerous if the food quality is lousy, isn't it??

Hi Steven, huh?? Without ordering and left??

Hi 卡珞, Thanks for dropping by. Glad to see if you've visited this place.
