Siam Express, Queensbay Mall

Do you notice one thing here? I have been blogging about Chinese food, hawker delight, western food, Nyonya food, but nothing like neither Thai food nor Indian food. Well, this will be my first post on Thai food.

Honestly I am not a Thai food fan; neither do I fancy anything Thai, apart from Tom Yam, Belacan Fried Rice, and Pineapple Fried Rice.

So, this will be my first Thai food post. [grin]

Actually, this is one of the week days that we don’t know what to have for dinner, and have no idea where to go for dinner. Thus, we decided to go for a walk in Queensbay Mall and see what we will pick up from there.

Hubby wanted to try this outlet for quite some time, and with that in mind, so I decided to give it a try.
First hubby ordered this seafood tom yam flat noodle and I ordered this thai style fried pad thai (ผัดไทย).
After that, hubby said that doesn’t fill up his hunger, so he ordered another plate of Belacan Fried Rice & some snacks.
And this MONEY BAG caught his attention, so here it is how it looks like. Though this money bag is kind of small, but taste wise, not too bad.

For the Belacan Fried Rice, it wasn’t anything special or highly recommended. To me it’s kind of normal. Secondly, I am not use to the raw stuff that Thai cuisine serves. For example, long bean serves with this fried rice without stir fry. And stir fry pad thai, they serve raw bean sprouts. I just don’t know why, compared to Japanese cuisine, I could take those raw stuff.

Oh yes, one thing good about this place, is their speed of serving. It was extremely fast and I was very impressed of it’s ‘express’ service. It took only less than 10 to 15 minutes to serve. Isn’t this fast?

I saw this in Gurney before, and Queensbay also. Doesn't fancy me that much, I prefer go to some thai restaurant that are not so well-decorated. I believe those will be better.

For the belacan fried rice, if the long bean is fresh enough, and the cili padi is spicy enough, they will come up as a harmony combination...

Yeah, some Thai food consists of raw veggies such as those you mentioned and green pea in green curry which is hard to bite.
Hi Daphne, is it?? Is the food good?

Hi Christy, what's inside, errr... meat, vege .... it's like a popiah but in money bag shape.

Hi Jasmine, ya, guess you're right, can't get authentic thai food from such food chain. BTW, I've dropped by and leave you a note. Thks for the gift! Truely appreciate it.

Hi Sugarbean, hehehehe... hope this is a sweet reminder... :)

Hi Ling239, errr... not quite. It was just so so only.

Hi Nic, long time no see. Ya, they have another outlet in Gurney.

Hi Celine, didn't have the gutts to try that. :(

Hi Yummilicious, can!!! :D

Hi Jason, in fact, I never expect those raw vege for Thai food. :(

Hi vKeong, ya, read it in your blog.

Latest visits : Cameras are not allowed. We were dining at Gurney's SE and the waiter rudely told us "NO CAMERA; Didn't you read the banner outside?" Meaning your customers are supposed to read all the banners before coming in? If I knew no camera I obviously wont come in at all.

Seriously the customer service sucks a big time.
